  Our go-to family picnic spot. Tables on either side, but we prefer the ones on the east/south side, where the bay is narrower and it's easy to keep track of small children. Wide tidal flats are awesome for beachcombing and playing. We do bring the dogs, but keep them tied up carefully. (Bring baggies - there is no dispenser here.) We bring our mini tabletop propane BBQ as well, which is allowed. Good cell reception here also means that I can work from here on warm days. The bobs floating out in the bay mark crab traps. If you want to do any crabbing, you will need a small boat, but I understand it's quite good here. The lawn on the west side has a large cottonwood with a rope swing. Plenty of sun and perfect spot to launch a kayak, paddle board or even small boat, if you can carry it in.

  2 great sandy beaches with a steady incline into the water. Perfect bay for paddle boarding and swimming.

  Lovely coves ...soft sands if the tide is out. Grassy on one side ...beautiful picnic spot. Nice place to lay out a blanket for the day.

  One of many great beaches on Gabriola. Best at mid to high tide.
